10 tips to overcome trauma imposed by narcissistic abuse: 1 Take time and listen to your inner thoughts that create doubt about behaviors and words presented by those that continue to cause hurt and pain. 2 If they cause you trauma and hurt, it is time to set boundaries. What does that look like for you? It may be as simple as going no-contact or reducing contact. 3 Journal. Start writing down your thoughts and feelings frequently. If you notice a negative pattern, then it may be time to draft a solution. 4 Listen to those around you that have your best interest at heart. If different people are commenting on the same things, it’s time to take positive actions. 5 Once you notice a pattern of misbehaving, please call the person out on their actions .
