2025 in the Rearview: Change the Future by Giving What You Want to Receive
2025 in the rearview mirror holds a lot-loss, division, heartbreak, and pain. But you can’t rewrite what happened behind you… you can change what happens next. One powerful way to shift your forward trajectory is simple: give more of what you want to receive: thoughtfulness, empathy, encouragement, and life-giving words.
2025 in the rearview mirror holds a lot for many of us: loss, division, heartbreak, disappointment, and pain that didn’t ask permission before it arrived.
If you’re ending the year feeling tender, tired, or emotionally stretched thin… you’re not alone.
Here’s the truth I want to leave on your heart:
You can’t rewrite what happened behind you,
but you can change what happens in front of you.
Give more of what you want to receive
Give more of what you want to receive.
Think about it…
Have you ever received a gift that made you pause-because you could tell the person truly saw you?
Not the “I grabbed this last minute” kind of gift.
But the kind that quietly says:
-
“I know what you love.”
-
“I paid attention.”
-
“I wanted this to feel like you.”
That kind of thoughtfulness doesn’t just feel nice.
It feels healing.
And if you want more care, kindness, gentleness, and understanding in your life,
it’s time to become a person who gives it first.
Giving doesn’t have to cost money
It doesn’t have to be purchased to be powerful.
It can be:
-
something you bake
-
something you make by hand
-
a card with real words (not generic ones)
-
a voice note that says, “I’m proud of you.”
-
a message that begins with: “Thank you for being you…” and gets specific
Because people don’t remember what you bought.
They remember how you made them feel.
If we want the world to change, we have to go first
To make changes in the world, it’s imperative to practice what we crave:
-
Be more of a giver than a receiver.
-
Show empathy by imagining yourself in someone else’s shoes.
-
Be an encourager-especially when people feel unseen.
-
Speak life and positivity over others.
Your words matter.
Your presence matters.
Your kindness creates a ripple-even if you never get to see the full wave.
So as 2025 closes, instead of asking, “What did I lose?”
try asking:
“What do I want more of in my life-and how can I give that out to others?”
That’s how you change the forward trajectory.
If you’re craving comfort, grounding, or a softer moment in your space 🤍
