Reading Materials
There have been various magazines ordered as of last month. Please write in if you have not received something by October 31, 2019.
What are some reading materials you would like to receive if we are able to get those to you?
Are you reading anything at the current time? Would you care to share what you like or don’t like about your current reading materials? Would you be interested in joining our bookclub? If so, please submit two possible books you would like to read and share with others .
Life Coaching and Connections:
As we move in a direction that leads to self sufficiency and positive steps to reintegration into society physically, mentally, and technologically we want to hear from you. What are some of your concerns, comments, or contributions?
We are here to help inmates and all that are impacted by your incarceration. Many times that is simply your friends and family. Along many journeys those connections become strained. Sometimes it becomes cumbersome to try and figure out alone how to mend those broken connections. That’s where we become useful with providing techniques and connections to people in society that want to positively encourage inmates to plan for success moving forward.
In order to create the plan and connections, there is some input needed from you. All information submitted will remain confidential if you choose to participate.
What was your life like growing up?
What would you change if you could?
As an adult, what type of supports could have deterred you from crime?
If there is one relationship you could fix, would you? Why
If you have a release date, how are you preparing for that day?
If you have a lengthy sentence, what are some goals you have to achieve balance in your life?
What are your thoughts on taking responsibility for your thoughts and actions?
Do you have someone or a method to keep yourself accountable for achieving your goals
How do you cope with triggers in your environment that you have no control over?
Do you journal or keep a diary?
Postcards:
Are you able to receive postcards? Would you enjoy receiving them from time to time? Postcards are scheduled to begin going out next week. Please look for yours!

Here is a perspective we want to leave with you:
For spouses and families separated by crime and incarceration, maintaining a relationship is complicated. There is often a lot of pain and broken trust that must be dealt with. Restricted access and limited visitation can make it hard for those on opposite sides of prison walls to stay in contact. In addition, prisoners are often transferred to different facilities, and many end up hundreds of miles away from home.
When prisoners can stay connected to their families, their chances of recidivism drop. Maintaining those relationships and choosing to walk alongside loved ones during their incarceration takes a lot of effort. While every situation is different, here are several resources that may help.
